About the Lund University: TheClinical Protein Science and Imaging (CPSI) group is a dynamic research group within the dep. Biomedical Engineering and the Inst. Translational Medicine. The group focuses on tumor Pathophysiology, advancing clinical proteomics as well as AI-imaging. We use state-of-the-art high resolution mass spectrometry and fully automated Biobanking with robotic processing, to study proteins and their roles in health and disease. The team works on projects ranging from cancer diagnostics, with a strong emphasis on Lung Cancer and Malignant Melanoma, in ProteoGenomic studies, biomarker discovery, and AI-assisted digital pathology. Our research contributes directly to improve patient care through our development and hospital implementations.
Principal Investigator: Prof. Dr. György Marko-Varga

Persons involved:
- Jeovanis Gil Valdés
- Natalia Pinto de Almeida
Role within Consortium:
The project coordinator, Prof. György Marko-Varga leads Work Package 6 (WP6 – Validation of Prediction Outcome and Clinical Implementation). WP6 will focus on the development and validation of assays for selected biomarkers that will be implemented into clinical settings. The successful implementation of these biomarkers will mark a significant step towards integrating precision medicine into routine clinical practice for melanoma treatment.
Task Description:
- WP6: The primary objective of WP6 is to transition the project’s findings from the laboratory to clinical settings, ensuring that validated biomarkers and predictive tools can be effectively implemented in clinical practice to refine and personalize treatment strategies for melanoma patients.
